Ready-made reports to bid, design and manage the job

SI5 comes installed with a variety of reports which will help you win and manage your jobs. These include two types of reports – standard reports and business manager reports.

Standard Reports

Standard reports are available via the Reports List and can be customized. Standard reports are initially categorized into Client, Installation, and Management reports.

Client Reports

Client reports are intended to be presented to customers. These include:

·         Proposals

·         Contracts

·         Scope of Work Documents

·         Project Summary

Installation Reports

·         Checklists

·         Wire Labels

·         Wire Connections

·         Wire Terminations

Management Reports

·         Gross Profit

·         Purchase Orders

·         Project Hours

·         Cost Summary

Business Manager Reports

Business Manager Reports require a Business Manager license to run. They include the following report types:

·         Change Orders

·         Sales Orders

·         Work Orders

Flexible options for how reports are run

Most reports come with a set of report definitions, which allow you to define different ways to group and sort data on the report. Many reports also have parameters which affect the way they run, such as showing package detail prices or not.

There are also a number of global options which affect things like which level of location detail to display, and whether to include accessory prices with parents or not.

Finally, it is possible to filter the data being displayed in the report. For example, you could run a report based on only Crestron products for the Finish phase.

Customize the appearance of your reports

SI5 Pro comes with a report designer that allows you to quickly change the appearance of most reports, making it easy to brand reports for your business.

Additionally, the report designer can be used to make more significant modifications to reports, such as changing the project summary, adding calculated fields, and modifying the order that things appear on the report.

You can even start from scratch and create an entirely new report, using a graphical user interface and scripting languages VB.Net and C#.

Group reports so they run together

Reports can be grouped together into a report group, so that by running the report group all reports in that group are automatically run.

View multiple reports at once

Reports run are opened in their own tab, so that you can quickly swap back and forth between them for comparison. Simply close a tab when you are done with a report.

Export reports to excel, rtf or pdf

Once run, any report can be exported to Excel (xls), Rich Text Format (rtf), or Adobe pdf (pdf) format for further editing or distribution.

Use MS Excel (or other XML reporting engine) to create reports

SI5 can export data directly into MS Excel via XML, so that you can create interesting reports using Pivot Tables and other Excel features. While D-Tools does not supply any Excel Reports out of the box, we do supply a number of free sample reports that you can use to get an idea of the power in this.

Multi-project reporting

SI5 reports can be run on more than project, which is particularly useful for management reporting (PO’s and Profit Reports).

Revision comparison reporting

It is possible to run a report based on the difference between two revisions of the same project. This is helpful to see what has changed from one revision to the next. This is also called ‘delta’ reporting.

Import and export custom reports

Custom reports are conveniently exported and imported using .zip files, making it easy to back up and distribute these reports. In a future version we’ll enhance this even further so that they can be automatically distributed when using LANSync.

Run SI4 legacy reports

Users who have SI4 installed are able to run their SI4 reports, including custom reports, from within the projects interface.

However, due to a change in reporting engine (Crystal Reports to Active Reports), SI4 custom reports are not convertible to SI5. This means the SI4 interface must be used to create or modify these reports.
